UPDATE: FOSTER FOUND (still up for adoption!)

TEMP FOSTER NEEDED for Theo! He needs a foster this Sunday through October 10. (He is also available for adoption!!)

This silly boy is 1-2 years old and 18 lbs. he is very friendly with all people, kids and other dogs. He is fine with cats, too.
He has some anxiety when he first goes to a new home, but settles in within a few days. He’s great on a leash and does well meeting new people. He is initially afraid of men (only in the home), but gets passed this in a few days.
Theo is an active and playful pup who loves running around and playing with toys. He can hop a fence so he can’t be left outside alone 😳
He is house trained and crate trained.

We will provide all food and supplies to anyone who can temp foster!

Look at this beautiful girl! Susie is only 3 years old and about 15 lbs. she was a great mama to her puppies, who have all been adopted, and she is now looking for a forever home of her own.
We think she is a Jack Russell/Rat Terrier mix.

Susie is a sweetie, and does great with meeting new people and new dogs when out and about.
In the home, she is initially scared of men, but bonds to females in the home quickly. She is more afraid of men in the home when the female she trusts isn’t nearby. She does warm up to men in the home day by day, and is fine with them after about a week; she’s just slower to trust men (though does great with meeting men outside of the home).

Susie is house trained, walks well on leash and does well in the car!

Poor Teddy finds himself back in our rescue again 😥He is now in boarding and needs a foster (and is back up for adoption)!
Teddy is just under 4 years old. He’s a sweet boy who is great with people. He doesn’t like big dogs, and that’s what landed him back up for adoption. He gets along with most small dogs, though doesn’t like the occasional small male.
He needs basic boundaries in place for him from the getgo (no furniture, sits before he eats and goes for walks) and if these are in place he flourishes.
He is relatively independent and will come to you when he wants affection!

Please let us know if you can foster this sweet boy. We’re sad that hes found himself back up for adoption and stuck in boarding.

Tammy is a very sweet and loving pup. She’s initially shy of new people and situations, but it doesn’t take long for her to settle in and show you her affectionate side!

Our beautiful Princesa is looking for her forever

Our beautiful Princesa is looking for her forever home!
She’s about 12 years old and 13 lbs.
Princesa gets along with other dogs just fine, but does prefer to be the only dog in the home as she gets jealous of others!
She is house trained, walks well on a leash and rides great in the car!
She will be your shadow and follows her person everywhere. She likes to sit and cuddle with you on the couch.
She’s very mellow and doesn’t have any separation anxiety.
Princesa doesn’t like being touched on the face so we recommend a home without small children.

Princesa has recently had a dental cleaning! She also had a mass removed which was cancerous, but the vet said they got it all out and it’s very rare for this type to spread - it usually stays localized and can all be removed with the surgery that she had.

We are heartbroken to share that Jack, our longest

We are heartbroken to share that Jack, our longest resident at PPR, has passed away after a long battle with cancer. His shelter paperwork dated back to 2008 so we are amazed at the long life he lived though deeply sad that it did not end with him finding an adopter. Jack was adopted from a shelter in his younger years then dumped again as a senior where we pulled him for rescue in early 2021. He wasn’t able to find a foster in his final year, but we couldn’t be more grateful to the kind folks at @sunny_day_training who boarded him and became his family. They gave him a life of mountain hikes, playground fun and plenty of affection. We are so appreciative to everyone who has fostered Jack in the past, transported him to vet visits or adoption fairs, donated to his medical or boarding fees, or shared him online. We are hoping to raise $6500 in boarding fees to settle our debts as well as $375 to have him privately cremated. TEMP FOSTER FOUND! Susie has been stuck in boarding, and therefore she hasn’t been able to come to adoption fairs to look for her forever family!

She needs a temp foster from Friday-Sunday, so she can come to the fair on Saturday (bonus if you’re able to bring her to our fair in Larchmont Village).

Susie is 18 lbs about about 2 years old. She just had puppies and was very protective of them. Since being apart from them and in boarding, she’s been fine with other dogs who don’t get too in her face, and she’s been okay with people. She bonds quickly to her “person” but we not sure if she’ll get protective of her person or not (another reason we’d like to see how she does in a home environment).

Theo needs a foster by Thursday!
Theo is such a sweet pup - he is good with all people, kids and other dogs.
He is anxious and scared when he moves to a new home, but with a little decompressing and time he settles in in a couple of days, and more and more each day.
He can be barky at men in the home initially (never outside of the home), but stops doing this quickly.
He is starting to develop separation anxiety, which he hadnt had before, so we’re unable to say if this will stop or continue once he’s in a new home.
Theo walks great on a leash, rides well in the car and is house trained.

He is also available for adoption: he’s 18 lbs and 1-2 years old.

Tiger Lily has been with us for over a year and needs a new foster by the end of the month, so this is pretty urgent.
Tiger Lily is very scared of new people so will hide the first couple of weeks in a new home. Once she trusts you, she is a very cuddly and affectionate girl!

Arya needs a foster by THURSDAY or she heads to boarding 😭

Arya is 68 lbs and about 7 years old. She’s a very sweet and affectionate girl once she trusts you, but she is understandably hesitant with new people and places.
Arya love to play ball, play with squeaky toys, and go for walks. She is good on a leash and is house trained. She loves belly rubs, pets and treats. She is very good motivated and anyone can win her heart with some yummy treats!

She is not reactive to any dogs at our adoption fairs, but we haven’t seen her interact with them. In the shelter, she did well with other large calm dogs.

Because she’s hesitant of new people at first, a home without small children who’s be best.

Please, please, pretty please let us know if you can foster this sweet girl. We don’t want her to be scared and lonely in a cold boarding kennel.

Rio has behavior issues and has been working with a behaviorist. He needs someone who can follow the boundaries he needs, and who is willing to follow the guidance of the behaviorist.

Kitten foster needed!!
While we are on a major intake break due to lack of finances, we’ve been following these kittens journeys since they were born and feel the need to help.

These kittens were born from a stray mom in an active warehouse. It was a dangerous place for kittens to be living, but due to the boxes and pallets everywhere, it was impossible for the warehouse owner to catch them.
They’re about 3 months old now, and he was finally able to catch them all! Now they desperately need a place to go!

3 of them are scared, and 1 is more brave, but they are not yet feral and we think will blossom once they’re in a safe environment.

Please let us know if you can take 1, 2, 3, or 4 in to foster - we will provide all food, medical and supplies!
